"Born in Punjab, India, raised in New York City and grew up in Texas" is how Simra answer's the questions, 'Where are you from?' In her childhood, she was a walking mesh of traditional Indian culture set to urban New York attitude. Or as she puts it, "traditional Indian rhythms set to urban New York melodies". A few moments into one of her self-produced songs and you will realize that her music an exact reflection of who she is.

India to New York is just 2 parts to the trilogy of her life so far. Based on her rebellious preadolescence, her family decided to move their well established businesses and home to Houston, TX. It is here that Simra's Indian Rhythm and NYC Melodies met their long lost soul mate -- All American Rock and Roll. Simra was easily won over by the crooning of Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly, which touched her traditional roots, and the unabashed, rebel-luring proclamations of Def Leopard, Kansas, and Journey (to name a few).

Never have an artist's life experiences and flavorings been depicted so clearly and harmoniously in their music. Simra's unique and risky melting pot of "Rock-Hip-Pop", as she likes to call it, finds the perfect chef; her self-produced music is effervescent with the truth and vibrancy of what lies in her heart and soul.
